Photo of the Month

Just off of the main tunnel in the Colorado is what I have nicknamed the Halloween Tunnel. The camera flash has washed out the color of the walls but, as you can see from the tunnel face this rock formation is very black. The mineralization in the rock is forming a bright orange mud on the floor of the tunnel. Upon closer examination of the rock, it looks like it is sedimentary, possibly organic in nature, and could have been part of the ocean floor many millions of years ago. Maybe, I should try digging for clams.
