Osceola Mine Progress Report

 

   5/2001: The snow has melted for good this year. The sun was shining, the butterflies were inspecting the flowers by the hundreds and the temperature was in the 70's and 80's in Alleghany for the Memorial Day weekend. Over the winter, the snow at any one time, was about four feet deep. The reason I'm stating this fact is, because, where you have melting snow, you have runoff. How did the catch-basin behind the mill do? Just fine, thank you. You may have heard about the rolling blackouts in California. Fear not! That's why they build backup generators. Check out the latest pictures below.
