Osceola Mine Progress Report
10/2001: The aftermath of the flood of "97 is still being dealt with at the Osceola Mine. Progress is still being made in a positive direction for assessing the situation underground. Inventory and assessments of other long forgotten tunnels and shafts are also underway.

The ground underneath the stationary compressors had eroded away during the flood. As a temporary measure, the roof supports were extended to solid ground and set in concrete.

The flood had also destroyed part of the back wall in the mill when debris came down the hill.

Steel safety doors have been installed around the diesel powered compressor allowing complete access and removal when needed.
